Help Wanted: Serious People
Mr. B is right to be offended by the lack of serious people dealing with a most serious situation in Iraq. Congress has been woefully ineffective in providing any kind of alternative policies to the Bush's peddle-to-the-metal policy, and it doesn't look like St. McCain or Rangel are interested in anything more than stirring the pot.
Depressing isn't it?
I seem to remember sitting in a room with a certain U.S. Senator from Indiana, and this certain Senator said something about the Iraq government needing to show it's effectiveness within 6-8 weeks. This was on May 22.
The serious people are out there, but the media and the hawks are more interested in maligning them than allowing the debate to move forward. So we get John McCain and Charlie Rangel instead.
